Job summary

Eastern Airlines Express is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) to join our day-to-day maintenance team at El Paso International Airport. You will perform maintenance per manuals, log activities, and ensure compliance with Part 121 operations while upholding safety and accuracy.

Ideal candidates have an FAA A&P certificate, a high school diploma, and at least two years of experience on commercial aircraft. Boeing 737 Classic experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certificate required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass line maintenance assessment under Part 121 operations.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record as per company standards.
• Active passport and ability to travel as needed.
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance on aircraft.

Role Overview

This is a full‑time position reporting directly to Maintenance Control with oversight from the Director of Maintenance (DOM). The responsibilities cover the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the company, involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to its aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high mechanical aptitude, exemplary work ethic, strong knowledge of line maintenance and proficiency in FAA regulations, with excellent communication skills and the ability to exhibit the values and culture of the company in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft maintenance per manufacturers' recommendations, adhering to approved procedures and data
• Meet aircraft, check aircraft maintenance logs and respond to discrepancies entered in the logbook
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on aircraft
• Reference the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Structural Repair Manual, Component Maintenance Manuals and wiring diagrams when working on aircraft
• Complete required paperwork accurately using the procedures set out in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
• Use only approved and certified hardware, parts and equipment on aircraft
• Promote teamwork among maintenance personnel and flight crews
• Maintain work spaces, materials and tooling in accordance with company policies and procedures, industry best practice and appropriate housekeeping
• Uphold safety and security procedures and awareness
• Obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed, and other duties as assigned

Licences & Qualifications Required

• a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certificate
• High school diploma, General Education Development (GED) diploma, or higher
• Ability to pass an assessment demonstrating knowledge of line maintenance under Part 121 operations
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's licence, with a driving record from the state of primary residence that meets the company's insurance standards
• Active passport
• Pass a two-year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test and criminal history records check (CHRC)
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Experience: two years of experience on commercial aircraft in a Part 121 environment; Boeing 737 Classic experience highly preferred
• Basic avionics knowledge and skill highly preferred
• Ability to occasionally travel to airport or aircraft field locations at little or short notice
• Ability to drive tugs, trucks, lift trucks, snorkel lifts, boom lifts, tractors and other maintenance vehicles, and to taxi aircraft
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
• Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb and stoop frequently in confined spaces, and to work in elevated areas
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a team environment
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the internet, and familiar with accessing online aircraft manuals
• Work includes outdoor conditions with seasonal weather; the position requires extremely strenuous physical work, sometimes involving objects in excess of 70 to 100 pounds
