Job summary

Swire Coca-Cola is seeking a Line Maintenance Specialist to join our Utah-based operations. You will maintain and troubleshoot high-speed manufacturing lines, develop autonomous and preventive maintenance plans, and drive improvements in safety, quality, and uptime.

The role requires hands-on mechanical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime. This position offers a stable day schedule with some nights/weekends as needed for a 24/7 operation, along with growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Technical certifications or equivalent experience are acceptable.
• 2+ years with a degree in industrial maintenance; 4+ years with a high school diploma.
• Experience with maintenance systems in industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily maintenance planning and 24/7 operations.
• Lead maintenance activities to reduce breakdowns and downtime.
• Develop and update preventive and autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with line controls and planning teams to improve line reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and process equipment on high-speed lines.

What does a Line Maintenance Specialist do at Swire Coca-Cola?

Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a line culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent works closely with the line controls specialist to ensure that appropriate processes, capabilities, and routines are in place to support production by developing autonomous maintenance and preventive maintenance capability, with specific focus on the mechanical systems of a manufacturing line. Incumbent will also maintain, troubleshoot, install, and recommend mechanical / process changes to improve business results in the areas of safety, quality, production, delivery, cost, and morale.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in line Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and execution of the daily plan, including reporting results of the previous 24 hours: number of breakdowns, resolved / unresolved defects, project management, etc.
• Serve as a coach and resource for the line team and actively participate in the execution of the maintenance plans. Develop manufacturing technicians' capability of inspecting equipment for defects and correcting those defects
• Support development and lead portions of 90-day loss elimination plans and the annual maintenance plan
• Partner with line controls specialist in leading the breakdown elimination (BDE) daily management system (DMS) and drive breakthrough results in line stops and in Planned / Unplanned downtime - with specific focus on the mechanical systems of the manufacturing line
• Partner with line controls specialist in leading the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling System - planning maintenance periods to resolve defects identified through equipment inspections, scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) work orders, and annual maintenance plan tasks / rebuilds - with specific focus on the mechanical systems of the manufacturing line
• Ensure the revision and updating of maintenance system technical documentation occurs as necessary. Develop work instructions to ensure maintenance tasks are completed using best-practice, cost-effective, standardized methods
• Support the line team in troubleshooting breakdowns and process failures. Ensure machine performance meets safety, quality, and production requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or GED) required
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or industrial maintenance preferred OR
• Technical certifications/equivalent experience in engineering or industrial maintenance preferred
• 2+ years working with maintenance systems in industrial manufacturing (with Bachelor's degree) required OR
• 4+ years working with maintenance systems in industrial manufacturing (with High School diploma or GED) required
• Expert in maintenance of high speed manufacturing processes, including specific knowledge of fasteners, bearings, belt / chain drives, gear boxes, motors, couplings, conveyors, etc.
• Expert in industrial maintenance systems, including CMMS
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to support a 24/7 operation
