Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is seeking a production supervisor in our Columbus, USA facility. You will guide shift leaders, ensure adherence to BD Excellence, and drive safety, quality, and productivity while coordinating with maintenance, engineering, and planning teams.

You will promote accountability, lead 5S and TMS initiatives, and develop staffing/training plans to meet schedules. On-site collaboration is essential to maintain BD’s performance culture.

Qualifications

• Associate degree completed or in progress required.
• In lieu of degree, 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years people-leading experience preferred.
• Three years manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promptly address safety issues or incidents.
• Spend a minimum of 90% of time on the production floor leading shift production leaders and associates.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Reliability to address production needs; lead TMS and coordinate with Process Engineer and Maintenance Technician.
• Communicate improvement strategies (SQDC) across all shifts for alignment and execution.
• Oversee staffing levels and training plans across all shifts to ensure coverage.
• Own the Tier Management System (TMS) and 5S within the assigned areas; ensure sustainability.
• Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations.
• Ensure open communication between production associates and management; represent concerns both ways.
• Ensure fair application of policies; involve HR as needed.
• Participate in and support BD Excellence approach.
• Collaborate with Production Planning to establish schedules and monitor performance.
• Track department metrics and communicate progress to associates and management.
• Other duties as required to support business needs.
