Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL in Fayetteville, NC seeks an experienced manufacturing associate to train others, ensure standardized work, and uphold TPM and 5S practices on the line. You will monitor productivity, document defects, and drive continuous improvements across shifts.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing, a high school diploma or GED, and a solid understanding of lean methods. It is an on-site, full-time position focused on efficient production and defect reduction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Working knowledge of production basics.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Practices and 5S.

Responsibilities

• Train associates to standardized work and monitors compliance.
• Ensure correct documentation and tools are present.
• Ensure cell start up checks and documentation is completed.
• Inspect the 1st piece to release production.
• Ensure cell is meeting hourly productivity rates.
• Document and dispose of defects and scrap correctly.
• Stop line if abnormalities are found and clarify standardized work.
• Perform rework by analyzing defects and repairing promptly.
• Support line associates when problems occur.
• Communicate with other shifts and exchange information during shift changes.
• Interact with peers, shift supervisor, and continuous direction to cell associates.
• Follow 5S; maintain cleanliness and prepare for runs; attend 5S audits.
• Plan 5S workshops and implement resulting action plans.
• Update and post required paperwork, charts and graphs.
• Communicate with Supervisor and suggest continuous improvement activities.
• Audit and maintain TPM; support sustainable TPM implementation and track actions.
