Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Line Haul Driver to join our OD Family Culture. You will operate various tractor-trailer combinations over long distances, delivering freight with precision and reliability.

Our drivers typically work a 5-day week and are home most nights, with a strong work-life balance and a tuition reimbursement program for new graduates. Responsibilities include safe driving under DOT rules, pre-trip inspections, and load securement.

Qualifications

• Must have 12 months tractor-trailer driving experience and/or graduate of state certified truck driving school.
• Must read, write, and speak English; basic math and map reading skills required.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and pass DOT tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations over long distances; adhere to DOT safety, hours of service, and hazardous material rules.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure load securement and stability.
• Record deliveries via tablets/phones and navigate efficiently.
• Unload freight at destinations and adapt to extended travel away from home.
• Maintain safety and comply with company policies; participate in orientation and training.
