Job summary

Saia is seeking an experienced Class A CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations on long-haul routes, delivering freight safely and efficiently across regions. You will be accountable for trips, logs, and adherence to DOT standards while representing Saia’s commitment to reliability and customer service.

Responsibilities include regional and cross-regional travel with various trailer configurations, performing routine inspections, and maintaining detailed load paperwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A CDL with hazmat, tanker, and twin trailer endorsements.
• At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• No DUI/DWI or license suspension for moving violations in the past 3 years.
• No chargeable accidents or serious traffic violations in the past 6 months.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English for documents and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drives tractor trailers to deliver and pickup freight between terminals and facilities.
• Travels regionally and cross-regionally while pulling single, double, or triple trailers.
• Follows established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling and billing procedures.
• Conducts inspections by following safety and quality control procedures.
• Hooks, unhooks, and assesses equipment in DOT guidelines.
• Maintains records, logs, forms and load-related paperwork.
