Job summary

Cobb EMC is seeking an experienced Line Foreman to lead skilled crews, drive safety and reliability across the distribution system in Georgia. This hands-on leadership role combines field work with coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure high standards and timely delivery.

You’ll direct construction, installation, and maintenance, lead tailboard safety sessions, and jump in to perform line work when needed. Expect a 4‑day week and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 8+ years in electric utility line construction/maintenance.
  • 3+ years as a Journeyman/First Class Lineman.
  • Advanced knowledge of live-line work, distribution systems, safety regs and first aid.

  • Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by learning and implementing new technologies and equipment.
  • Lead daily tailboard meetings to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Jump in and perform line work when needed—this is a working leadership role.
  • Maintain accurate time, material, and system records.

What You Bring
Experience & Knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8+ years in electric utility line construction/maintenance
  • 3+ years as a Journeyman/First Class Lineman
  • Advanced knowledge of
    • Live-line work (overhead & underground)
    • Distribution systems & substations
    • GUFPA regulations, safety standards, and first aid practices
Skills & Certifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to operate substation and line apparatus for testing
  • Required credentials
    • Valid Class A Georgia CDL (with endorsements)
    • Georgia Flagging Certification
    • Cobb County Excavating & Trenching Certification
    • ITS Operator Certification
