Avista Corporation is seeking a Line Equipment Operator, temporary position in Spokane, WA. Pay is $51.75 to $53.88 per hour with a 2-step progression, and the role is bargaining unit and temporary up to 12 months.

Requires CDL Class A, valid license, first aid/CPR, and ability to pass forklift training. The operator assists the line crew with equipment operation to install, maintain and repair electrical lines, contributing to system reliability and employee safety.

Job Description

Assists line crew with the operation of various self-propelled equipment for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical lines and equipment. Operation of equipment includes, but is not limited to, boom trucks, digger/derricks, backhoe, mini excavator, trenchers, wire stringing equipment, backyard machines, and dump truck and associated trailers. Works as a member of the line crew.

This position is instrumental in maintaining the reliability of systems used to ensure the safety of Avista’s employees and customers. Therefore a positive safety culture is a primary focus for this position.

Requirements Requires previous experience operating equipment such as backhoes, mini excavators, ditching machines and truck with trailer. Requires valid driver's license, CDL license (Class A), first aid certification and CPR competency. Must pass yearly exam on operator duties and must be able to pass Company sponsored forklift operator's program. Other combinations of education/ experience may be considered.
