Job summary

United Airlines is seeking a Line Engineer to provide engineering support for operational aircraft and work with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot issues and develop safe repair solutions.

In a fast-paced airport environment, you will research technical data, interpret engineering documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain safety, reliability, and on-time operations of United's fleet. A strong foundation in engineering and FAA knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Foundational knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Aircraft Recovery – troubleshoot discrepancies and develop repair solutions to return aircraft to service.
• Provide Technical Engineering Support – research and interpret drawings, manuals, OEM docs, and regulatory requirements to ensure airworthiness.
• Collaborate with Operational Teams – coordinate with Maintenance, Fleet Engineering, and others to resolve issues safely.
• Support Fleet Reliability – identify recurring discrepancies and communicate findings to Fleet Engineering.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement – help develop procedures and document solutions to improve maintenance efficiency.
