Job overview and responsibilities
The Line Engineer provides engineering support for operational aircraft, working directly with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot technical issues and develop safe, compliant repair solutions that return aircraft to service efficiently. This role supports line and overnight maintenance activities by researching technical data, interpreting engineering documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve aircraft discrepancies. Working in a fast-paced airport/hangar environment, the Line Engineer develops practical engineering experience while contributing to the safety, reliability, and operational performance of United's fleet.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement – Participate in developing engineering procedures, documenting technical solutions, and supporting initiatives that improve maintenance efficiency, aircraft reliability, and operational performance.
In addition to base pay, this role includes a $10,000 role‑specific premium, separate and additional from the listed base pay range.
The base pay range for this role is $83,695.00 to $109,004.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long‑term incentive compensation awards.
