Job Requirements

Starting Pay Range: $22.00 to $27.50 hourly

Day/Swing shift available

As a Line Cook at The Lake House, you’ll prepare and cook menu items to recipe standards, maintain a clean workstation, and work with the kitchen team to ensure timely and high-quality food service.

What does a Line Cook do?

• Understands the importance of proper food handling procedures and ensures that HACCP procedures are always followed.
• Always follows all approved recipes while ensuring proper cooking techniques and the highest quality standards.
• Consistently instructs less experienced team members on proper kitchen equipment use, recipe execution, and maintaining high safety and food quality standards.
• Ensures that temperatures are taken at specified times and recorded appropriately.
• Ensures that foods are maintained at necessary temperatures and those not in necessary ranges are properly corrected or discarded.

Work Experience

To be successful as a Line Cook, you'll need:

• A High School Diploma or Equivalent; required
• Associates degree in a related field or culinary degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• A minimum of 2-3 years related experience.
• A valid NYS Drivers License
• The ability to read schedules, menus, and policies; perform basic math related to recipes; operate kitchen equipment such as steamers, fryers, and ovens; and communicate effectively in English with professionalism and accuracy.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 71 - 80pounds.
