We're seeking a talented and creative Specialty Sushi Cook to join our culinary team and elevate our Japanese cuisine offerings. In this role, you will craft beautifully presented, high-quality sushi using traditional techniques and modern twists, while working with the freshest ingredients available. From nigiri to specialty rolls and omakase-style experiences, you’ll play a key role in delivering an unforgettable dining experience. What does a Sushi Cook do?

• Continually demonstrates the ability to produce specialty food orders in a timely, neat and organized manner according to the needs of the guest.
• Always follows all approved recipes while ensuring proper cooking techniques and the highest quality standards are upheld.
• Consistently demonstrates an understanding of assisting in controlling product costs by ensuring the proper management of product waste.Attempts to control food costs; throw away, etc.
• Effectively slices and prepares all sushi orders made.
• Must have a detailed knowledge of the menu and be able to explain to our guests all offerings in the sushi case including the characteristics of the fish, flavor profile and origin.
• During slower periods will be preparing Nigari and Sashimi.

Work Experience

To be successful as a Sushi Cook, you'll need:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience in sushi restaurant or retail.
• Possesses food hygiene and safety certification; preferably serve safe certified or can acquire certification.
• Must have sound knowledge of food safety regulations specifically fish and shellfish and pH measures.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 0 - 10pounds.
