Position Overview

Job Title:Line Cook

Location:Tampa, FL

Salary: $18 - $23 / Hourly

Rooster & the Till, a Proper House Group concept, is a 72 seat modern American restaurant located in the growing market of Tampa, Fl. With over 9 years in operation, Rooster & the Till is a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand recognized and James Beard nominated (2017 Best Chef South), independently owned and operated establishment.

We are looking for an experienced line cook to join our team. This candidate possesses a team mentality and thrives off of growth. A sense of urgency, extreme cleanliness and great communication skills are just a few traits that our candidate needs to be able to display daily.

We are open for dinner service only, Wednesday through Saturday which creates a natural 4 day work week while still providing full time employment. All cooks share in an optional tip pool structure which provides an extra $3-$8 per hour of pay. We look forward to meeting you!

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
  • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
  • Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
  • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of cooking experience
  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong organization and active listening skills
  • The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
  • Exceptional time management skills
