Job summary

Big Whiskey's of Northwest Arkansas is seeking a motivated line cook to accurately and efficiently prepare meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot items. You will also plate, garnish, and portion foods, ensuring quality and consistency across each order.

You will work with broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers, maintaining clean stations and adhering to portion sizes, recipes, and safety standards while supporting team colleagues during peak service periods.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other equipment.
• Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
• Maintain standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen procedures.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations.
• Portions and labels items for cooking; rotates products properly.
• Keeps work stations clean and sanitary, including equipment and refrigeration.
• Prepares items for various cooking methods and garnishes plates according to menu and recipes.
• Follows plate presentation standards and garnish setups.
• Assists in food prep during peak times and closes the kitchen per checklist.
• Attends scheduled meetings and participates in improvement suggestions.
