Job summary

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is seeking a Line Cook for the PM shift to craft memorable dishes for guests and uphold the resort’s culinary standards. Cooks will plan, prep, set up, and provide quality service in all areas of food production for our Food & Beverage outlets.

We value candidates with strong knife skills, knowledge of hot and cold line operations, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. English proficiency and a team-oriented attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform comprehensive knife skills and standard cooking techniques.
• Experience in high-volume, upscale kitchen environments is preferred.
• Strong English communication and willingness to learn and grow in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute line cook duties for PM shift, including setup and service.
• Maintain quality and presentation across multiple F&B outlets.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and daily checklists, and communicate with supervisors.

The JOB:

As a Line Cook - PM Shift you will get the opportunity to create masterpieces for all our guests to enjoy! Our cooks are the heart of our resort, using their skills and expertise to delight our guests with their culinary creations. Our cooks plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for our Food & Beverage outlets.

YOU:

To be successful in this position, we're looking for someone who thrives on training and learning as you go. This role requires good communication skills, basic culinary skills and the desire to learn and grow.

Comprehensive knife skills, cold & hot line knowledge to include classic knife cuts and multiple cooking techniques. Management of special requests and aggressive ticket times is essential. Ability to multi-task, team-oriented, positive attitude, flexibility is a must. Safe food handling and sanitation is paramount.

Previous experience in high volume, upscale, from-scratch kitchen. English proficiency. Positive, team-oriented attitude is a must. 1-2 years of previous experience working in a similar setting.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; bend, twist, squat, stoop, reach above head. Follow direction from supervisors and assimilate critique as part of daily growth. Focus on teamwork and constant and regular communication with fellow employees and supervisors. Follow daily checklist and report any issues or challenges to management team.
