Job summary

Peddie Golf Club, part of Troon, in Hightstown, NJ, is seeking a dependable Line Cook to join a fast-paced hospitality team. You’ll learn, contribute, and grow while delivering a first-class experience and adhering to food safety guidelines.

Pay is $18.00–$20.00 per hour (experience‑based). Responsibilities include following recipes, assisting with inventory, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years cooking experience preferred.
• Minimum education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in managing and upholding a safe working environment.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Must be dependable.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and independently.
• Must be able to take direction.

Responsibilities

• Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
• Follow standard recipes while preparing all assigned items.
• Assist Food and Beverage Manager with inventory.
• Understand how to properly use and maintain equipment.
• Perform cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance as directed.
• Assist with product receiving/storage.
• Maintain compliance with health regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.

The candidate must be highly dependable, team-oriented, able to take direction and able to work independently. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines established by the Food Service and Safety Department. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed.

Pay:

$18.00 to $20.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
• Carefully follow standard recipes while preparing all assigned items
• Assist Food and Beverage Manager with conducting a monthly food/supplies inventory
• Understand how to properly use and maintain the equipment
• Perform necessary clean-up, sanitation, equipment cleaning and maintenance activities for all food preparation and storage facilities as directed by the Food and Beverage Manager
• Assist with product receiving and/or storage of products
• Maintain full compliance with Department of Health regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager

Working Conditions:

• Physical activity including long periods (6–8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, and scooping
• The employee will be required regularly to reach with arms and hands
• The employee will occasionally be required to lift up to 30 lbs
• Use of sight, reading, and wrist movement to serve meals and beverages, operate food service equipment and clean food service areas
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception
• Noise level is moderate to loud
• The employee will be expected to work extended hours during golf and holiday season
• The employee will be expected to work weekends and holidays
