Job description

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing foods to be served to guests throughout the venue. The Line Cook will often have direct contact with the public working in areas such as a buffet line slicing meats or preparing dishes to order. The Line Cook must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This position is based at Lockhart Stadium – Inter Miami CF in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This venue will house 30 acres of green space including amenities such as youth soccer fields, a park, and a community center, all open to the public. Inter Miami CF plans to launch its first two MLS seasons in Fort Lauderdale.

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00-$17.00 and is tip eligible.

Responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
2. Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements.
3. Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service, and delivery of products.
4. Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment.
5. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
6. Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking.
7. Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery to guests.
8. Consult with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption.
9. Demonstrate excellent attendance standards.

Qualifications

1. Previous cook or prep cook experience.
2. Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef's knife.
3. Effective communication skills in English with team members, management, and guests.
4. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
5. Possess valid food handling certification if required by regulations.
6. ServSafe certification preferred.
