We are looking for a Full Time Cook to join our team!

Line Cooks start earning at $21.00/hour

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cook to join our team, where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our beloved residents. Our culinary team plays a crucial role in ensuring our residents receive meals that are not only delicious but also meet their dietary needs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Read, understand and follow recipes and production sheets when preparing meals.
  2. Adjust recipes for amounts as needed.
  3. Prepare all food indicated by the production sheet according to recipe and standards.
  4. Ensure correct quality of food is produced and correct portion sizes are served.
  5. Food is ready to serve on time.
  6. Food is batch cooked when appropriate to ensure best quality.
  7. Utilize wholesome ingredients. Inspect ingredients and do not allow poor quality food to be produced and served.
  8. Taste all food (including altered diets) before serving and adjust as needed.
  9. Prepare special and therapeutic diets as needed.
  10. Maintain food storage areas properly by labeling, properly sealing and dating all items.
  11. Follow safety precautions when using and cleaning equipment. Alert management of any problems, concerns and malfunctions.
  12. Adhere to all standards of food safety when handling food products.
  13. Use the clean as you go philosophy keeping work station clean throughout the day.
  14. Maintain food cost control.
  15. Deliver and/or serve food to the appropriate areas.
  16. Perform clean-up responsibilities as assigned.
  17. Perform quality assurance monitor, i.e. check and record food and refrigeration temperatures. Alert management if temperatures are outside of guidelines.
  18. Achieve customer satisfaction with food prepared.
  19. Participate in continuing education programs and attend scheduled meetings and in-services.
  20. Adhere to department standard of dress.
  21. Perform other duties as required.

Position Requirements

Education

Graduate of a culinary arts program through a vo-tech school.

Associates Degree from a culinary school, preferred.

Experience

Previous experience as a Cook, preferably in a senior living or hospitality setting.

Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary requirements for seniors.

A passion for cooking and a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of our residents through delicious and nutritious meals.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Flexibility in working various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
