Job summary

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill in London, UK is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to prepare food items to recipes and standards while delivering outstanding service in a historic luxury setting.

The role requires 2–3 years of culinary experience, English proficiency, and a passion for food. You will work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and you will contribute to maintaining top sanitation and kitchen hygiene with support from the Executive Chef and the Food & Beverage team.

Qualifications

• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Comply with food sanitation standards and ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
• Uphold all standards of kitchen hygiene.
• Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products.
• Stock and maintain designated food stations.
• Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen.
• Practice correct food handling and storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations.
• Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage.

Job Overview

A Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding service.

• Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred, but not required.


• Food and sanitation certified preferred.

Experience:

• Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.


• 2-3 years of culinary experience required.


• Availability to work different shifts including weekends and holidays.


• Open availability preferred.

• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to communicate with colleagues and supervisors.


• Enthusiastic, experienced and passionate about food.

• Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements, such as slicing or chopping food.

• Clean work area and equipment using broom, mop, sponge, cleaning solution and other applicable materials.


• Move objects between 20-50lbs short distances.


• Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform the essential job functions for an extended period of time.
