Responsibilities

• Sets up and stocks stations with supplies and ingredients.
• Prepares essential components of each dish using proven recipes.
• Memorizes and uses serving portion sizes and basic meal prep procedures.
• Keeps kitchen, prep areas, and storage areas clean and sanitary.
• Assists other shifts with portion prep as needed.
• Monitors product freshness and rotates stock using FIFO.
• Operates an industrial dishwasher safely and efficiently.
• Follows sanitation and safety policies at all times.
• Performs opening/closing/cleaning and side work daily.
• Performs basic janitorial tasks to clean spills and broken glass.

Essential Job Duties

include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Sets up and stocks stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients
• Prepares essential components of each dish on our menu using our proven recipes
• Memorizes and utilizes our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen
• Ensures that the kitchen, all food prep areas, and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards
• Works with our team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed
• Monitors product freshness and rotates out by using FIFO
• Ability to operate an industrial dishwasher safely and rapidly
• Follows sanitation and safety policies at all times
• Performs daily duties such as opening, closing, cleaning, and side work
• Basic janitorial skills to clean up spills, broken glassware, etc., immediately

Physical Requirements

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; and hear. The employee must lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a professional kitchen, with exposure to high temperatures (ovens/grills), sharp objects, and commercial equipment. Frequent exposure to wet or slippery floors, hot water, and commercial cleaning chemicals. Daily operations require frequent travel to the basement level for administrative duties, inventory management, laundry, and product storage.

Schedule

Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, this role requires the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as early and late shifts.
