Job summary

HRI Hospitality in Richmond, VA, is seeking a line cook to plan and prepare menu items for our hotel restaurant and catering events. You will follow proper food handling and safety guidelines and help control food costs while delivering excellent quality to guests.

You will support kitchen operations, maintain cleanliness, accommodate guests' special requests, supervise or train teammates when needed, and work a schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum one year of hospitality or restaurant food service experience.
• Knowledge of basic kitchen cleanliness standards and equipment.
• Able to work with little supervision and communicate professionally.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all F&B standards are met to deliver value to guests.
• Plan and prepare various items for hotel restaurant and catering events following food safety guidelines.
• Understand food cost and portion control without sacrificing quality.
• Assist with quality, presentation, cleanliness, and organization of kitchen and restaurant.
• Accommodate guests' special requests and maintain sanitation standards.
• Maintain clean work area and practice 'clean as you go'.
• Support training of kitchen staff and monitor duties as necessary.
• Assist with environmental commitments and contribute to green hospitality goals.
