Hilton Garden Inn Stony Brook is looking for a talented Line Cook who is ready to roll up their sleeves, ignite their culinary creativity, and help deliver an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.

Located on the beautiful campus of Stony Brook University, our hotel has 135 guest rooms, over 3,800 sq. ft. of event space, and our own restaurant, Northern Coast Kitchen & Cocktails. Managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, we offer a dynamic work environment with a competitive salary and outstanding benefits.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare, Cook, and Plate: Take charge of stations (grill, sauté, fry, etc.), carefully preparing ingredients, cooking dishes to precise specifications, and ensuring each plate is beautifully presented.
  • Follow Recipes and Set Standards: Adhere to recipes and techniques to ensure consistency and top-quality food. Work with your team on daily menu items and special requests.
  • Prep Like a Pro: Assist in ingredient prep, chopping, marinating, and organizing to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Ensure Food Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe environment by following proper food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor Inventory: Track stock levels and communicate shortages or needs to the kitchen manager.
  • Support Special Events & Catering: Occasionally work on events or catering orders, creating custom menus and providing excellent service.
Who We're Looking For
  • At least 1 year of culinary/line cook experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for cooking and eagerness to grow culinary skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
