Job summary

MXB Battery Operations LP in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Cook II to join our Back of House team. The role requires good communication and culinary skills, with restaurant cooking experience preferred; a culinary degree is desirable but not required.

You will operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers, prepare ingredients, coordinate station output, and maintain safety and cleanliness. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Executive Chef.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in basic cooking skills and ability to work a single station.
• Must be able to perform all basic cooking skills as a Cook I.
• Able to work single station in the kitchen.
• Sufficient math skills to work through recipes, ingredients, calculating recipe amounts, and portion size.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
• Coordinate output of assigned station.
