Job summary

Glass & Vine in Warwick, RI is seeking a dependable Line Cook to plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials in accordance with departmental quality standards, recipes, and plating guide specifications. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.

The role requires 0–2 years experience as a Line cook at a 4/5 star restaurant, a high school diploma or equivalent, and food handling/sanitation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Culinary College Degree
• 0–2 years experience as a Line cook at a 4/5 star restaurant
• Food handling certificate
• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to provide legible communication
• Sanitation certificate (Preferred)
• Previous Supervisory experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain and abide by health regulations and restaurant requirements
• Know proper use and maintenance of equipment
• Follow all department policies and procedures
• Meet with Sous Chef to review assignments and schedules
• Open workstation routines and prep items for service
• Prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides
• Inform Sous Chef of shortages and available items
• Maintain storage procedures and minimize waste
• Assist with closing duties and inventory as needed
• Work as part of a cohesive kitchen team
• Respond to busy periods with support to the service staff
• Cross-train in other kitchen areas
