Job summary

Chumash Enterprises is seeking a versatile cook to join our food program. You will prepare meats, poultry, and seafood using various cooking techniques and according to standard procedures, and assemble soups, salads, gravies, and casseroles from tested recipes.

In addition to cooking duties, you will ensure guest service excellence, assist with menu planning for outlets and special events, and maintain clean, safe workstations. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
• Must obtain food handler card within 30 days of employment.
• Three years’ experience in garnish, pantry, line cooking, baking, butchering, or other food service prep.
• Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
• Native American hiring preference applies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meats, poultry, and seafood using various cooking techniques according to standard procedures.
• Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes to prepare soups, salads, gravies, and casseroles.
• May add spices and seasonings to menu items using approved recipes.
• Delivers exceptional guest service at applicable food outlets.
• Confers with culinary staff and management to plan menus and perform related activities for outlets and events.
• Uses correct knife skills and knife sharpening techniques.
• Mixes ingredients for all approved recipes.
• Keeps the floor area in the line clear of debris and slipping hazards.
• Ends each shift by cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment.
• May work in different areas/outlets as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
