Qualifications

  • Ability to perform analytical work in a kitchen setting.

Pay: $21-22/hr

Job Overview

Ensure proper service from the front line through quality control, training of line cooks, and maintaining proper sanitation levels.

Responsibilities

  • Check all items against recipe cards, verify use records, and ensure food presentation meets standards efficiently.
  • Monitor line setup before meal functions for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain equipment and uphold the kitchen's "clean as you go" policy.
  • Prepare food following recipes, production, and portion standards, coordinating with servers.
  • Start pre-prepared food items, avoiding overproduction.
  • Label and rotate perishables per SOP, ensuring proper temperatures.
  • Check pars for shift use, plan necessary preparations, and set up lines.
  • Identify out-of-stock items or shortages.
  • Return unused food to storage, covering and dating perishables.
  • Assist in controlling food costs by minimizing waste and loss per SOP.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 1-2 years in a related position with this or other organizations.

Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures to perform analytical work.

Physical Demands

The physical requirements include lifting up to 70 lbs, periodic climbing, bending, full mobility, continuous standing, hearing equipment timers, seeing food preparation accuracy, and understanding instructions. Work environment varies from -10°F in freezers to over 100°F in front-line areas.
