Job summary

University Village Thousand Oaks is seeking a full-time cook to join our dining services team. You will prepare a variety of foods following standardized recipes, including sauces, sautés, braises and roasts, and ensure quality and appearance.

You will assist in daily prep, special functions, banquets, catering, holidays and events, stock stations, and coordinate with meal serving hours. Safety and sanitation are a must.

Qualifications

• Three years of cook experience in hotel, restaurant, retirement community or similar.
• Ability to plan, organize, and interpret recipes and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
• Culinary education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all food items per standardized recipes (sauces, sautés, boils, braises, roasts).
• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, fish, vegetables with focus on quality and appearance.
• Assist in daily prep, events, banquets, catering, holidays.
• Stock and maintain line stations to ensure smooth service.
• Coordinate with meal serving hours and ensure safety and sanitation standards.
