Job summary

Palmer Food Services in Rochester, NY is seeking a Line Cook for a full-time role. You will prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other items using Palmer recipes, ensuring quality and consistency at every plate.

You will work with the Prepared Foods Manager on menu items, maintain clean stations, stock supplies, and assist with closing duties while upholding Palmer’s values of honesty, service, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-4 years experience as a Line Cook – Fry and Cook.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal skills, friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Product knowledge and ability to take direction from MOD.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using Palmer recipes for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment.
• Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served and monitors each plate that leaves the station.
• Works with the Prepared Foods Manager on menu and chef case items.
• Maintains standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations for a smooth service period.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation of entire kitchen area.
• Opens and/or closes the kitchen properly and assists others in closing the kitchen and Market.
• Assists in training new hires as directed by the Prepared Foods Manager.
