Job summary

Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community in Escondido, CA seeks a full-time kitchen team member to prepare meals for residents and support dining service with a focus on nutrition, flavor, and service.

Five days per week, 9:00 am–5:00 pm or 10:30 am–7:30 pm, with holiday availability. Prior professional cooking experience is required and standard screenings and background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Prior professional cooking experience is required.
• Must be able to pass fingerprint background check (Livescan).
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Willing to work holidays.
• Ability to pass health screening, TB test, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents with attention to nutrition and presentation.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.

THE COMPANY

Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services. We seek to help our residents age in place as we strive toward our mission to "honor God by serving others with love and compassion."

Shift Availability:

Full-time. 5 days per week M-F or Tu-Sat (kitchen closed Sunday). 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or 10:30 am to 7:30 pm.

Job Description:

We're looking for responsible, friendly, and service-oriented individuals to join our kitchen team in preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our seniors. For many of our residents, dining with friends is an enjoyable social event, and our staff strive to offer a positive experience with good food and friendly service.
