Job summary

The Press Club Grill in Washington, DC is hiring a Line Cook to execute salad, sandwich, grill, char grill, pan and fry items, meet presentation and timing standards, assist others, and maintain a clean, stocked work area.

You will read and communicate orders, stay organized under pressure, and uphold food safety while collaborating with front-of-house staff. Flexible scheduling and room to grow with the company are available to motivated cooks.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills.
• Experience with grilling, salad and sandwich prep, pans and deep frying.
• Able to read and communicate orders accurately.
• Well organized with a sense of urgency; can track multiple orders and multitask.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Team player; collaborates with others.
• Understanding of food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Present professionally with clean uniform and grooming.
• Maintain knowledge of recipes, procedures, and plating for all menu items.
• Prepare grill/char grill/salad/sandwich/entree items per recipe or orders.
• Meet timing standards for all items.
• Coordinate orders with others and assist coworkers as needed.
• Work with front-of-house staff to respond to guest needs.
• Keep areas well stocked and guest-ready; ensure cleanliness and safety.
