Job summary

River Merchant in Kent, OH is seeking a Fry/Flat Top line cook for full-time, with PM-shift availability preferred. You will contribute to team goals, stay calm under pressure, and be dependable, diligent, and communicative. Cross-training on multiple stations (prep and dish) may be required.

You will operate deep fryers and flat top grill, preparing and plating burgers, sandwiches, sides, and entrées to meet quality standards. Excellent teamwork and adherence to guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities for a fast-paced kitchen.
• Able to stand and move for the duration of shifts.
• Reliable transportation to Kent, OH location.
• Availability to work closing and mid shifts.
• Experience in a similar role preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Cross-train on all kitchen stations (Expo, Grill, Fry, Pantry, Prep, Dish).
• Stock and re-stock food items on assigned station.
• Maintain sanitary procedures per health and safety regulations.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and service staff.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely (knives, fryers, ovens, grills).
• Follow recipes and operating guidelines precisely.
• Follow opening/closing protocols including cleaning tasks.
• Ask questions if anything is unclear.
