Job summary

Mambo Seafood Restaurants in Houston is hiring a Cook to join our fast-paced, high-volume operation. The Cook adheres to our recipes, portions, cooking methods, and safety standards to prepare meals that meet quality and timing expectations.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, be 17+, and able to communicate in English; Spanish is a plus. A Food Handler Certificate is required. Prior food service experience is helpful though not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Ability to speak, write and understand simple English.
• Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
• Must have a Food Handler Certificate.
• Prior food service industry experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
• Must be a team player and customer-service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a welcoming and professional approach with coworkers.
• Practices Company food quality principles.
• Cooks various foods in accordance with Company recipes, policies, and procedures.
• Ensures that food orders leave the kitchen simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
• Sets up and maintains sufficient level of products at workstation.
• Stocks inventory and stores and rotates food products and ingredients properly.
• Complies with food safety and sanitation standards and maintains sanitary and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
