Job summary

Nick the Greek is recruiting for a Line Cook / Back of House Team Member in Tyler, TX. You’ll prepare menu items from recipes, work stations on the line, and help keep orders moving with speed and accuracy.

Training starts early October with opening timeline mid-October. The role offers competitive hourly pay, paid training, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to advance to lead cook and management roles.

Qualifications

• Experience in a restaurant/kitchen/line cook is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn multiple kitchen stations.
• Dependable with on-time attendance.
• Strong attention to food quality and cleanliness.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
• Reliable transportation and availability for nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must meet age requirements for duties and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to recipes, portions, and procedures.
• Work assigned stations on the cook line efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, sides and other ingredients.
• Complete daily prep and stocking responsibilities.
• Maintain proper food temperatures, labeling, storage, and rotation.
• Follow FIFO and other food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Follow cooking, holding, cooling, and reheating procedures as needed.
• Communicate with FOH team to keep orders moving accurately.
• Work with urgency during high-volume periods while maintaining quality.
• Assist with dishes, cleaning, restocking, and other kitchen duties.
• Complete opening, shift-change, and closing duties.
• Follow all company, health dept., sanitation, and safety requirements.
• Help receive and properly store deliveries when assigned.
• Perform other restaurant duties to support the team.
