Job summary

Nick the Greek is opening a Tyler location and seeks an experienced Head Cook to lead our opening kitchen team. You will manage hands-on cooking, train staff, and ensure food safety and quality across all stations.

This role requires strong leadership, excellence in presentation, and the ability to work quickly without compromising standards. You’ll work a full-time, hourly schedule with regular overtime six days a week, coordinating with Front of House during a grand opening and the early

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Head Cook or Lead Cook preferred.
• Strong cooking and food preparation skills.
• Ability to coach and direct kitchen staff.
• Reliable, hardworking, and lead by example.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation.
• Calm and productive under high-volume service.
• Open and flexible availability.

Responsibilities

• Work hands-on in all kitchen stations and lead by example.
• Prepare and cook food according to Nick the Greek recipes and standards.
• Help train, coach, and develop kitchen team members.
• Maintain speed, accuracy, portioning, and food quality during service.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, stocked, and ready for each shift.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed.
• Direct kitchen flow and help position team members during busy periods.
• Communicate effectively with Front of House leadership.
• Help identify and correct performance or execution issues.
• Complete opening and closing kitchen responsibilities.
• Jump wherever needed to keep service moving.
