Job summary

Nick the Greek in Tyler, TX is hiring Line Cooks / Back of House Team Members to join our opening team. You will prep and serve menu items, follow recipes and procedures, and help keep a fast-paced kitchen safe and clean.

We offer competitive hourly pay based on experience, paid training, and flexible scheduling. Opportunities for advancement to Shift Lead, Head Cook, and Management positions are available as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, kitchen, or line cook experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple kitchen stations.
• Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the scheduled shift.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Reliable transportation.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Must meet all applicable age requirements for assigned job duties and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to Nick the Greek recipes, portions, and procedures.
• Work assigned stations on the cook line efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, sides, and other ingredients as assigned.
• Complete daily prep and stocking responsibilities.
• Maintain proper food temperatures, labeling, storage, and rotation.
• Follow FIFO and other food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Follow proper cooking, holding, cooling, and reheating procedures.
• Communicate with other line employees and Front of House team members to keep orders moving accurately and efficiently.
• Work with urgency during high-volume periods while maintaining food quality.
• Assist with dishes, cleaning, trash, restocking, and other kitchen responsibilities as needed.
• Complete assigned opening, shift-change, and closing duties.
• Follow all company, health department, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
• Help receive and properly store deliveries when assigned.
• Perform other restaurant duties as needed to support the team.
