Job summary

Hickory Tavern is seeking a dedicated line cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, maintain a clean workstation, and contribute to a fast, friendly dining experience for guests.

Ideal candidates have basic cooking knowledge, safety and sanitation understanding, and the stamina to stand for long shifts. You’ll work with teammates to deliver timely service, read orders, and follow directions in a high-energy environment.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
• Previous cook experience.
• Stands/walks 6 to 8 hours per shift.
• Reaches, lifts and bends, frequently.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
