Job summary

Kansas City Live! is looking for a Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook daily orders, minimize waste, maintain sanitation, stock inventory, and support other departments as needed.

This role requires attention to recipe adherence, portion control and timely execution in a fast-paced environment. The position involves standing in the kitchen, lifting up to 75 pounds, and potential night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience of cooking on a fast paced kitchen line and food preparation experience.
• A culinary certified training is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving items and taking inventory.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards meeting Health Board inspection and company requirements.
• Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area including reach-ins and counters.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist with ware washing or other kitchen duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service; interact with guests occasionally.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
