Qualifications

• Demonstrate basic cooking knowledge, following recipes, portion control and presentation.
• Strong communication with cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading and writing abilities used for recipes, scheduling and inventory.
• Basic math for quantities and variances.
• Alcohol awareness certification or food service permit as required.
• May be required to work nights, weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving and inventory.
• Restock items as needed during the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards per Health Board and company requirements.
• Keep work area clean, neat and organized.
• Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• May assist with ware washing or other kitchen duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily coordination with other departments; may interact with guests.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
