D.L. Mack’s, a Chicago-inspired American tavern, is seeking aLine Cook to join our Vandelay Kitchens. You will execute recipes with precision, prepare dishes to guest requests, and maintain a clean, efficient station to support a high-volume service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1–2 years of culinary experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
• Strong work ethic with a passion for delivering high-quality food and guest experiences.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Solid understanding of culinary fundamentals and knife skills.
• Detail-oriented with focus on cleanliness and food safety.
• Ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a team.
• Food handler certification as required by state/local regulations.
• Desire to learn and grow within Vandelay’s culinary program.

Responsibilities

• Execute all menu recipes with precision and consistency.
• Prepare dishes according to guest requests and timing standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tickets during high-volume periods.
• Collaborate with culinary and front-of-house teams for smooth service.
• Follow proper cooking techniques, knife skills, and equipment use.
• Uphold plate presentation standards reflective of Vandelay’s quality.
• Assist with daily prep, stock rotation, and storage tasks.
• Execute opening, mid-shift, and closing kitchen procedures.
