Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place featuring comfort food, vegetarian options and a lively beverage program. Beatrix Loop is seeking Line Cooks to prepare, produce, and present menu items while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced setting.

This position requires flexibility for weekends and various shifts, and teamwork is essential in a creative, caring environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a variety of hours, including weekends.
• Stand and walk for an entire shift.
• Read thermometer correctly and monitor food temps.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate clearly in written and spoken direction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to prescribed recipes and/or special requests.
• Maintain food safety and quality standards.
• Follow all prescribed portioning controls and par levels.
• Accurately account for all items coming out of the station.
• Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
• Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Get along well with others and be a team player.
• Other duties will be assigned as needed.
