Job summary

PENN Entertainment is hiring cooks to prepare and cook food to standard recipes across Casual Dining, Sports Bar, Banquets, Outdoor Events, Racing concessions, and Steakhouses. You’ll plate and present dishes to reach guest satisfaction and profit goals, reporting to the Sous Chef during shifts.

The role involves standing most of the shift, some heavy lifting, and exposure to a busy dining atmosphere. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with a Total Rewards package including health coverage, 401(k)

• Must be able to perform physical tasks (standing, walking, lifting) in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to standard recipes for multiple outlets.
• Plate and present dishes to meet guest expectations and quality standards.
• Follow daily specials or menu changes as directed by Sous Chef.
• Communicate needs and waste to the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
• Interact with guests and coworkers professionally and courteously.

• Prepare and cook food products according to standard recipe - For either Casual Dining, Sports Bar, Team Member Dining Room, Banquets, Outdoor Events, Racing concession or Steakhouse.
• Prepare, plate, and present food products of various cooking methods in order to assist in reaching guest satisfaction, workforce strength, profitability, and compliance goals.
• Report to Sous Chef at start of shift to receive instructions as daily specials or menu changes.
• Communicates station needs, waste, and discrepancies with sous chef.
• As directed by sous chef, prepare and present menu items according to recipe specification and presentation expectations.
• Assist in other areas of kitchen as directed by Sous Chef.
• Interact with guests and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Set-up & maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
