Get to Know This Role

The Line Cook III collaborates with all kitchen staff to prepare, cook, and serve food for onsite guests, delivery, and to-go orders. They follow recipes, plating guides, and SOPs to ensure food quality and safety. This role involves training and mentoring Line Cooks I and II, utilizing advanced kitchen knowledge to improve systems, sustainability efforts, and employee skills.

What You Will Do

  1. Prepare all foods according to recipes and SOPs approved by supervisors.
  2. Assist with opening and closing SOPs, evaluate and suggest process improvements.
  3. Manage food prep quantities, communicate adjustments.
  4. Maintain safe, clean, and well-maintained work areas and equipment.
  5. Organize and rotate product for freshness and quality.
  6. Participate in trainings and operational updates.
  7. Handle shipments and organize inventory following FIFO and safety standards.
  8. Assist in training other cooks.
  9. Perform additional tasks as needed within the restaurant.
  10. Follow all relevant health and safety regulations.

Who You Are

  • At least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen as a line cook.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Advanced skills in prep, sanitation, and kitchen execution.
  • Effective team player and mentor to junior cooks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of food products and cooking techniques.
  • Proficient in math for recipes and measurements.
  • Understanding of BOH systems and communication with leadership.
  • Ability to adapt recipes for different yields and contribute to menu development.
  • Strong knife skills, safety-focused.
  • Experience in training staff.
  • Ability to respond to guest traffic and adjust prep accordingly.
  • Professionalism, attention to detail, and good hygiene practices.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Valid CA Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment.

Additional Considerations

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
