Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco Resort is seeking an experienced and creative Line Cook to join our team. Omni Frisco PGA Resort will provide north Texas with 127,000 square feet of event space, 13 new food and beverage outlets, an extravagant spa, and a full entertainment district. Featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a third short course, we will offer incredible options for dining, events, and entertainment.

Trick Rider is a new age supper club serving luxury, curated food, and tricked-up cocktails, wines, and spirits. It is experiential with swagger. A Frisco eatery like no other, featuring top-shelf fin, shellfish, and a stable of premium cut meats. Sit ringside at the chef’s table or at the horseshoe bar. It is a performance playing homage to traditions with a modern twist.

The Line Cook ensures all prep items are prepared and stored according to hotel specifications.

Responsibilities

  1. Independently prepares all food items as directed by supervisor and to the company specifications.
  2. Ability to work on an outlet hot/cold line executing menu items in the specified timeline for each meal period.
  3. The ability to identify and inspect all food products for quality.
  4. Follow all storage procedures when taking food out of walk-in and when returning food to walk-in.
  5. Safely and properly use all culinary equipment.
  6. Must have a solid and demonstrated understanding of cooking skills and techniques.
  7. Keep walk-in, prep area, and equipment up to Health Department and EcoSure standards at all times.
  8. Attend department meetings and other company-required trainings.
  9. Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  1. Proper use and care of cooking utensils and equipment, pots, pans, dishware, silverware, glassware, food slicing machine, knives, salad spinner.
  2. Proper care and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
  3. Oven, grill/stove burners, microwave appliances, robot coupe, mechanical choppers.
  4. 3 years of culinary experience preferred; well-versed in operation of at least one culinary station.
  5. Knowledge of basic kitchen preparation, knife skills, sanitation, and safety.
  6. Ability to remain active, including standing for 8+ hours per day.
  7. Flexible scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Must be familiar with weights and measures to follow and multiply standard recipes.
  9. Must have basic mathematical skills.
  10. The ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks and assignments.
  11. Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
  12. Must have unexpired Food Handlers certification or obtain it upon hire.
  13. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight.
  14. Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods, with frequent bending and twisting.
  15. Must be able to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and taste/smell.
