Line Cook 1 - Part Time - Port St. Lucie, FL We are currently hiring for a Line Cook I who will be responsible for working closely with the Executive Chef; assist with the planning, as well as, preparing and serving all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed, and baked items as per standardized recipes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge in advanced knife skills, and the ability to butcher and prepare all proteins and store them in their proper setting.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Requires special emphasis on sound judgment and understanding of legal concepts and local, state, and federal laws relevant to all aspects of the food and beverage industry.
COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK Work harmoniously with others to get a job done, responds positively to instructions and procedures and is able to work well with staff while maintaining relationships, which breed productive disagreement and debate.
