SA Hospitality Group, with a rich Italian heritage, is expanding its team. Since 2003, it has grown to include iconic New York City neighborhoods with brands like Sant Ambroeus, Casa Lever, and Felice, totaling 24 restaurant locations across Manhattan, Southampton, East Hampton, Aspen, Milan, and Palm Beach.

Position Purpose

This person is responsible for prepping food and plating dishes following menu specifications and chef’s directions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment.
  • Ensure food preparation and serving areas meet safety and sanitation standards.
  • Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment.
  • Test foods for doneness using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods.
  • Portion, arrange, garnish, and serve food.
  • Assist other cooks during busy periods or emergencies.
  • Cook meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods using baking, roasting, broiling, or steaming methods.
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables for cooking or serving.
  • Estimate food needs and requisition supplies accordingly.
  • Carve and trim meats for service or sandwiches.
  • Bake breads, cakes, and pastries as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism with all staff.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures.
Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain personal cleanliness.
  • Basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills preferred.
  • Good time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Active listening and learning skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English for safety and coordination.
  • Reading and speaking comprehension skills.
  • Discipline to follow standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
