Job summary

Mama Bird Southern Kitchen in West Jordan, UT is hiring motivated Line Cooks for both full-time and part-time roles. The team operates seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a fast-paced kitchen. Compensation ranges from $18 to $22 per hour, with PTO, insurance eligibility, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Must have a basic understanding of English and be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

• Ability to read and interpret kitchen monitors or tickets and follow recipes in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a valid State Health Card and any government-required cards.
• Willingness to learn, grow, and progress in this career.

Pay Rate:

$18 - $22 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Performs all culinary duties and responsibilities to achieve overall success of the operation.
• Prepares food orders for guests using prescribed recipes and standards.

Requirements

• Must have a basic understanding of English and the ability to communicate effectively in English
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Knowledge of and ability to consistently prepare all food recipes and sub-recipes as instructed
• Ability to expedite tickets accurately and timely, and read/understand the kitchen monitors or printed tickets, behind the cooks’ line.
• Proper cooling and storing practices per health department rules and regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow directions in a fast-paced environment; manage time effectively, and work well in a team environment.
• At all times during employment, you must have a valid State Health Card and any other government-required cards.
• A desire to learn, and grow, and a passion for progress in this career.
