Job summary

Art & Jake's Sports Bar in Washington, DC seeks a dedicated line cook to prep and cook at a specific station, keep prep areas clean, and ensure the kitchen stays stocked.

You will follow recipes, maintain food safety standards, set up stations, and assist with inventory counts while supporting a fast-paced team during busy game days.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cook stations and stocking them with the necessary prep supplies.
• Preparing food on the line by cutting, mixing, chopping, and making sauces.
• Cooking items on the line by grilling, frying, sauteing, and broiling to recipes.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards to comply with state and local food safety regulations.
• Handling and storing food safely.
• Takes inventory counts before and after shifts and maintains storage sheets.
• Weekend availability and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Preparing food on the line, as needed, by cutting, mixing, chopping, and making sauces
• Cooking items on the line by grilling, frying, chopping, sauteing, and broiling to quality guidelines and standardized recipes
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards (like creating and following a restaurant cleaning checklist) that comply with state and local food safety and sanitation regulations
• Handling and storing food safely and properly
• Takes inventory counts before and after shifts, completes food inventory or storage sheets
• Ability to work on weekends, stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds
