Job description

Ballpark Village is the center for St. Louis regional entertainment, hosting more than an estimated 4.5 million visitors annually with 150-plus events per year. We are located in the heart of the central business district and adjacent to Busch Stadium, surrounded by parking and have unprecedented highway access for the region. Our facility contains more than 100,000 sq. ft. of retail and entertainment including flagship anchors like Cardinals Hall of Fame Museum, Cardinals Nation Restaurant, and Anheuser-Busch Brew House.


Cook Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Control food usage to minimize waste.
  2. Prepare and cook orders for daily operations in a timely manner.
  3. Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required.
  4. Restock items as needed through the shift.
  5. Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen area that meet or exceed the state and local Health Board inspection and company requirements.
  6. Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins and counters.
  7. Reports all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
  8. May assist by performing ware washer or other kitchen duties as needed.
  9. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. May occasionally interact directly with guests.
  10. Perform more than one task at a time.
Cook Qualifications:
  1. At least one year experience of cooking on a fast-paced kitchen line and food preparation experience.
  2. Culinary certified training preferred.
  3. Must be able to demonstrate the basic knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
  4. Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with the other cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
  5. Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when preparing meals from a recipe, when assisting in the scheduling of the kitchen staff, or when monitoring inventory.
  6. Mathematical skills, including basic math, percentages, quantities, and variances are used frequently.
  7. Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
  8. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
The Cook position requires the ability to perform the following:
  1. Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  2. Standing up and moving about the kitchen in a safe and efficient manner.
  3. Handling food, objects, products and utensils.
  4. Bending, stooping, kneeling.
Job Type: Part-time.
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour.
