Job summary

Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, Georgia seeks an experienced Line Cook to join the opening culinary team. You will help establish kitchen standards, rhythm, and culture while working alongside chefs focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience.

As part of the opening team, you’ll contribute to creating a memorable dining program and guest experience from day one, with an onsite role and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. This is a hands-on, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe handling practices.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Set up and maintain an organized, fully stocked station before, during, and after service.
• Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Support food preparation, production, and storage across the kitchen as needed.
• Communicate with Chefs and fellow cooks regarding prep needs and 86’d items.
• Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and guest experience.

About the role

The Culinary team at Recess Hotel & Club is looking for an experienced and motivated Line Cook to join our opening team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their station, moves with purpose during service, and cares about delivering consistently great food.

As part of the opening culinary team, you’ll have the opportunity to help establish the standards, rhythm, and culture of a brand-new kitchen while working alongside chefs and hospitality professionals focused on creating an exceptional guest experience.

This is an onsite position located at Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, Georgia.

If hired into this role, you will receive a $1,000 one-time sign-on bonus . Minimum tenure requirements apply.

What you'll do

• Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations
• Set up and maintain an organized, fully stocked station before, during, and after service
• Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality, consistency, and attention to detail
• Support food preparation, production, and storage across the kitchen as needed
• Communicate effectively with Chefs and fellow cooks regarding prep needs, product levels, and 86’d items
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience

Qualifications

• Previous line cook, restaurant cook, or professional kitchen experience preferred
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices
• Strong sense of urgency with the ability to stay organized during busy service
• Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
• Effective communication and time-management skills
• Passion for food, hospitality, and producing high-quality work
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, lifting, and other physical movement required in a professional kitchen
