Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, GA is seeking an experienced Line Cook for our opening culinary team. This onsite role focuses on delivering great food, and helping establish standards, rhythms, and culture in a brand-new kitchen.

You will work with chefs and hospitality professionals to create an exceptional guest experience, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and minimum tenure requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook/restaurant cook experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe food handling.
• Ability to stay organized and communicate well in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Set up and maintain an organized, fully stocked station before, during, and after service.
• Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Support food preparation, production, and storage across the kitchen as needed.
• Communicate with Chefs and cooks regarding prep needs and items 86’d.
• Maintain sanitation and kitchen organization standards.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth service.

About the role

The Culinary team at Recess Hotel & Club is looking for an experienced and motivated Line Cook to join our opening team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their station, moves with purpose during service, and cares about delivering consistently great food.

As part of the opening culinary team, you’ll have the opportunity to help establish the standards, rhythm, and culture of a brand-new kitchen while working alongside chefs and hospitality professionals focused on creating an exceptional guest experience.

This is an onsite position located at Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, Georgia.

If hired into this role, you will receive a $1,000 one-time sign-on bonus . Minimum tenure requirements apply.

What you'll do

• Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations
• Set up and maintain an organized, fully stocked station before, during, and after service
• Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality, consistency, and attention to detail
• Support food preparation, production, and storage across the kitchen as needed
• Communicate effectively with Chefs and fellow cooks regarding prep needs, product levels, and 86’d items
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and kitchen organization standards
• Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and an exceptional guest experience

Qualifications

• Previous line cook, restaurant cook, or professional kitchen experience preferred
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices
• Strong sense of urgency with the ability to stay organized during busy service
• Reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
• Effective communication and time-management skills
• Passion for food, hospitality, and producing high-quality work
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, lifting, and other physical movement required in a professional kitchen
